Christian Palino is a Senior Project Leader and Principal Designer at IDEO. Currently based in San Francisco, Christian leads teams through projects at the intersection of product, services, brand and business design—helping clients and colleagues think and design strategically for the long-term.
Before joining IDEO, Christian worked at Adaptive Path as a Project Lead and Design Strategist, where he planned and led projects across industries from financial services to entertainment for clients including HP, Bonnaroo, Gap and Zappos. As project lead for an engagement with HP and Walmart, he defined their future vision for photo management across in-store experiences and living rooms. While at Adaptive Path Christian also built and led the company's visual interaction design practice.
Working for clients including Limited Brands, ASICS, Telecom Italia, Vodafone, and The Smithsonian, Christian has led projects at the intersection of brand and services. These engagements ranged from supporting organizational change to designing products, environments and branding campaigns. While collaborating with Continuum, his redefined service experience for Amplifon has greatly impacted revenues and become the blueprint for thousands of stores in 14 countries.
Christian is presently a Senior Lecturer at California College of the Arts where he teaches Visual Interaction Design. He has also taught at IUAV University of Venice, Domus Academy, and the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea. His work has been featured in The Guardian, ID, Fast Company, The Type Director's Club, and Print and has received multiple awards.
Christian holds a Master's in interaction design from the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea and a Bachelor's in graphic design from Rhode Island School of Design.
