Christian Palino is a Project Lead and Principal Interaction Designer at IDEO. He is passionate about design's ability to uncover and influence the implications of emerging technologies, services, and business practices. Christian is a systems thinker who helps people and organizations think and act strategically over the long term.
Previously Christian was a Senior Design Strategist at Adaptive Path, to which he brought his expertise in services, brands, and human-centered design. He led design teams through programs across such industries as health care, entertainment, technology, and retail goods for clients such as HP, CIBC, Walmart, Zappos, The Gap and Bonnaroo. Christian also built and led the visual interaction design practice at Adaptive Path.
As an independent consultant, Christian led design projects at the intersection of brand and service for clients including Limited Brands, Orange, Henri Bendel, Telecom Italia, Vodafone, Experientia, and Continuum. At Microsoft, Christian forged a multidisciplinary approach to define the relationships between private information and social contacts. Through researching extreme behaviors, his innovative approach to mail and calendar interaction helped redefine the mail and contact management experience.
Christian has taught at IUAV University of Venice, Domus Academy, and the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea. His work has been featured in The Guardian and been recognized by the IDEA awards, The Type Director's Club, and the AIGA. He is a regular contributor to Brand New and an occasional speaker on service design and design leadership.
